The Flossmoor Police & Fire Commissioners Board is charged with the responsibility of examining, appointing, promoting, and removing all officers and members of the Fire and Police Departments of the municipality, and making rules in connection therewith, unless otherwise defined by the Village's Munipcal Code and as provided by the Illinois Munipal Code. Specifically in Flossmoor, this Board is responsible for examining, appointing, promoting, and removing all Patrol Officers, Police Sergeants, Fire Captains, and the Assistant Fire Chief. The Police and Fire Chiefs are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Village Board of Trustees. The Deputy Chief and Police Commander are assigned by the Police Chief. The Board consists of three members.
