Fire Department

The Flossmoor Fire Department was organized and chartered in 1928. The fire department provides a myriad of services including: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Prevention, Fire Inspection, and Specialized Rescue services. Department staffing is comprised of full-time, contract, part-time and paid-on-call personnel who respond to more than 1,500 calls for service annually. This mix of staffing ensures that quality, cost-effective services are being delivered to our residents.

DEPARTMENT STAFF


Full Time Staff

The department presently consists of the following full-time staff:

  • Fire Chief
  • Assistant Fire Chief
  • 3 Captain/Shift Commanders
  • Secretary

Contract Staff

The department presently consists of six AMR/Kurtz contracted employees:

  • 6 Firefighter/Paramedics

  • These individuals staff the department on a 24-hour basis.

Part Time Staff

The department is approved for 20 Firefighter/Paramedics that supplement the contract staff providing a fourth person on a 24-hour basis.

Volunteer Staff

The department presently consists of:

  • 3 Lieutenants
  • 3 Engineers
  • 1 Safety Officer
  • 1 Photographer
  • 30 Volunteer Firefighters
