Flooding affects most of Chicago's suburbs, and Flossmoor, as one of them, has been subject to intermittent flooding. Certain streets and basements have sometimes even been under water. To help educate residents about the dangers of flooding and what they can do to mitigate flood hazards, the Village of Flossmoor has created an informational handbook (PDF).
