I understand the original idea behind the ordinance, but trucks have come a long way since then. Many are just as pricey and nice, if not more so, than an average passenger vehicle. Any vehicle not maintained properly becomes an eyesore, and I've seen a few vehicles parked around town that certainly fit that bill. I'm all for not parking commercial vehicles out in the open, but I think those of us that perhaps live on a property without suitable indoor vehicle storage, should be afforded the opportunity to purchase the style of vehicle we'd like. I know, I know, I knew the rules when I moved in. Believe me, I'm not going to move out just because I can't park a truck in the driveway. I'm just saying a nice truck looks just as good as a nice car; whereas a dumpy car looks just as bad as a dumpy truck. Perhaps the ordinance can reflect maintenance standards rather than vehicle style?
