Sleep in Heavenly Peace Returns January 14, 2023

SHP Branding

The Flossmoor Community Relations Commission is thrilled to once again partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service to build beds for children in need. For this year’s bed-building project, the Village is looking for 60 volunteers to assist in building 20 twin beds that will be distributed to children across the southland. This project was made possible thanks to a generous $3,000 donation from the Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department Corporation, which will cover the cost for all of the building materials. Now, we need your help to build them!

If you are interested in participating in the bed-building event, you can sign up directly at https://bit.ly/2Np1Xo5 or you can visit our Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service page to learn more. Be sure to select the Oak Forest, IL Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and specifically select the volunteer date of January 14, 2023 to volunteer for Flossmoor’s Day of Service project.

Not a builder or are unavailable on Saturday, January 14, 2023? That's ok, there is still a great way to get involved with our Sleep in Heavenly Peace project!

In addition to building the beds, we are also inviting the community to help us fit the beds with brand-new, cozy bedding. You can purchase one or more bedding sets through an Amazon Wishlist curated by the Community Relations Commission, to accompany one of the constructed beds, or to help support Sleep in Heavenly Peace's mission going forward!
