Village receives tree grant

The Village of Flossmoor is receiving trees for its public spaces through a grant awarded to the Student Conservation Association (SCA) by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI). Trees will be planted throughout Flossmoor starting in October 2018 and throughout 2019 by a crew of local young adults working for the SCA and with the help of resident volunteers.  Parkway trees are available for Flossmoor residents on a first-come first-serve basis.  The Village of Flossmoor Green Commission and Department of Public Works is organizing a planting day on Saturday, October 20th and welcomes all residents who want to help. We will be planting, mulching, and watering, and need all types of volunteers. Click Tree Planting Volunteer Sign Up  to volunteer to help.  If you have any questions, please contact Laura Brennan-Levy at 708-798-2300 or lbrennan-levy@flossmoor.org.
